5th Thailand SUP Festival – April 2018

The Thailand SUP Festival is the biggest SUP event in Thailand. This year marks the 5th year of the event running in Thailand. We’re expecting it to be a fabulous weekend in the sun – with short and long course technical races (2km & 6km), sprints, team relays, family/kids races, SUP yoga, SUP lessons and board demos. Bring your friends, family and team-mates!

The last event in 2016 attracted 70 competitors from all over Thailand and participants many other countries in the region including Australia, Japan, Korea, Hungary, Canada, Singapore and even India. And with the growing popularity of SUP in Thailand, we’re expecting even more people to participate this year.

Brought to you by iSUP Samui, the 5th Thailand SUP Festival will be held at LUX Beach Club, on a beautiful stretch of Bang Tao beach in Phuket. LUX Beach is an idyllic beachfront venue, with plenty of outdoor seating, restaurant and bar facilities! You can hang out at the beach club during the day, grab a massage after the races, and party at night after the dinner and awards presentation.

Date: 7-8 April 2018.

Location: LUX Beach Club, Bang Tao beach, Phuket, Thailand

We will be attending the 6th Annual ‘Fun on the Beach Day’ for the children of the Nakhon Orphanage on Saturday 24th September 2016.   There will be around 100 children participating in all sorts of fun activities on the beach at Khanom (on the mainland).  The iSUP Samui crew will be providing paddle board lessons and general water safety.

If you are interested in volunteering at this event, please visit the event page on Facebook, and reach out to the organisers.

Longtail SUP Tour to Five Islands

Virgin Coast Samui Longtail Tour

Come paddling with us on the Virgin Coast of Samui.  There’s not much here except for long sandy beaches, clear water, sleepy fishing villages, a few private villas and a couple of resorts. Most tourists don’t even realise this peaceful side of Samui exists.

The Five Islands (known as Koh Si Koh Ha in Thai) are about 5km offshore from the South West corner of Koh Samui.  The islands are known for their famous nests which are the main ingredient in birds’ nest soup.  The only inhabitants out here are the Sea Gypsies who live in small wooden homes perched on the rocky islands and protect the birds.

Long Tail SUP Tour to Five Islands

We start the tour with a private Longtail boat out to the Five Islands.  There’s time for snorkelling and maybe a swim with the local turtle.  If the conditions are good we paddle around the islands.  Also on the way back we paddle along one of the most beautiful coastlines of Samui, often referred to as the ‘Virgin Coast’.

Tour cost

2,200 Baht per person (without transfers), minimum 2 people.  We suggest you bring another 500 Baht per person for lunch and drinks after the Longtail SUP Tour.  Depending on your location, we can also assist with transfers from your villa/resort.
