Our Sunrise Paddle Tour Samui often features a truly unique perspective of Koh Samui’s iconic Big Buddha. To guarantee the calmest water and most spectacular dawn colours, we always choose the best and safest bay for the day’s conditions.
Our preferred route, which glides past the golden Big Buddha statue in Bangrak Bay, is the one we use most often between October and April.
During other months, this means we are typically at the stunning Choeng Mon beach. It’s an equally magical location where we get to see the sun rise directly over the horizon. And for a truly incredible bonus, this is the area where we occasionally spot dolphins (it’s rare, but a few times each year!).
This flexibility ensures you always get the best possible sunrise experience on the day, with perfect photo opportunities.
Your Sunrise Paddle Tour Samui: A Timeline
To help you picture your morning, here’s what you can expect from our Sunrise Paddle Tour, from start to finish. The timing will depend on the actual time of Sunrise.
- ~5:30 – 5:45 AM: Hotel Pickup or Beach Meeting
The magic begins. We’ll pick you up from your hotel lobby if you’re staying within our complimentary transfer zone. If you have your own transport, we’ll meet you directly at the quiet, beautiful beach. (Exact pickup time and location details are confirmed upon booking). - ~6:00 AM: Welcome & On-Water Lesson
Once everyone has arrived, we’ll begin with a brief lesson on paddling technique and safety right on the water’s edge. Even if you’re a complete beginner, our expert guides will have you feeling comfortable and confident in minutes. - ~6:15 AM: First Light on the Water
We launch our boards onto the calm, pre-dawn water. You’ll paddle gently as the first colours of the day appear, watching the island wake up from a vantage point of total serenity. - ~6:45 AM:
Golden Hour & Photos As the sun rises, your guide will capture beautiful photos of you on the water, silhouetted against the stunning backdrop. We’ll explore the coastline and soak in the incredible morning light. - ~7:30 AM: Return & Refresh
We’ll paddle back to the beach, full of positive energy, just as the world is getting started. You’ll be back at your villa or hotel in time for breakfast, ready to enjoy the rest of your amazing day.
